  • $33 Billion Texas Restaurant Industry Does Business at the 71st Annual SW Foodservice Expo

    The 71th Annual Southwest Foodservice Expo, produced by the Texas Restaurant Association, will be at the George R. Brown Convention Center June 22-24. As the largest foodservice trade show in the southwest, Expo features over 1000 exhibits and draws an average of 10,000 people a day to the show floor. 

     

    “”While the rest of the country may be experiencing an economic downturn, the dynamic Texas foodservice industry is open for business,” said Richie Jackson, TRA executive vice president/CEO. “Expo is the only place restaurateurs can see the newest products and services that they need to keep their business growing. From the newest Italian cuisine to the latest hand held ordering devices, everything a restaurant owner/operator needs will be found on the Expo show floor.”

     

    New this year is the Taste of Italy Pavilion, featuring the leading producers, distributors and marketers of delicacies from Italy and the Franchise Pavilion, showcasing exhibitors who have franchises for sale and those that offer consulting services to potential buyers.

     

    This year the Culinary Showcase Theater welcomes the US Pizza Team. Watch them perform stunning tricks and learn to throw dough with the team. A West Texas Culinary Showdown will feature Chef Paul Peterson, Gage Hotel, Marathon, Texas and Chef Rory Schepisi, Boot Hill Saloon, Vega, Texas competing for the title “Best in the West.” And you won’t want to miss VIVA Tequila – a look at the growing popularity of this liquor including tequila tastings and unique tequila based cocktails!

     

    Expo is also hosting the Multicultural Foodservice & Hospitality Career Fair on Monday, June 23. The Career Fair will showcase industry leading foodservice & hospitality employers recruiting for restaurant managers, chefs, operations and more.
