Texas ProStart Invitational
High school students enrolled in the Texas ProStart program compete in either the culinary or restaurant management category at this annual competition each spring.
Texas takes first place in management at National ProStart Invitational! Congratulations to Rockwall High School!
The Texas culinary team from the Academy of Culinary Arts at Byron Nelson High School also did an amazing job at Nationals, placing 7th out of teams from 46 states, territories and Department of Defense bases. We are so proud of both of the Texas ProStart teams. Thank you to all of the TRA members, mentors, instructors, judges, volunteers, parents and students for your support and all of the hours of hard work that made the 2014 competitions truly outstanding. The Texas ProStart Invitational is largest of all the state ProStart competitions and the only one to hold two regionals and a state final. In 2014, fifty-nine Texas high schools sent 90 teams, more than 440 students to compete at the two Texas ProStart Invitational regional competitions.
Day 1 | 1–5pm
Culinary teams begin competition with Product Check-in. Product will stay at the competition site in a secured, climate-controlled area. Management teams check in display boards and other materials.
Day 2 | All Day
Culinary competition begins. Management teams begin verbal presentations.
